  1. I will point out that Dan Brown’s major source’s source was disproven long ago, and the book is based on lies.

  2. Many people say that the novel is just fiction and that Christians should not be concerned about. And that in fact, we are increasing the popularity of the novel and movie by continuing to discuss our disapproval of the da vinci code. What do you think?

  3. Over 40 million copies of the book has been sold in the USA. The movie has already grossed over $200 million. The fact is a number of people have already been misled by this picture. I Peter 3:15 state that we should be ready to give an answer to every man for the reason of the hope that is in us. Yes we can answer a lot of the questions by totally avoiding the book and the movie, but we must also realize that a number of people have been influenced by the movie and book and will want answers based on their perception of the book and movie.

  4. Wow, those statistics are staggering! I wonder why so many people aren’t as eager to read God’s Word instead of man’s? Yes, I think we definitely need to be ready to respond to this book. Though Dan Brown claims this is just a fictional work, it is clearly evident that both he and Hollywood have an agenda…to subvert the truthfulness of God’s Word. They want people to believe that there is no absolute truth, specifically directing there attacks against Christians and the Bible. We have to help guide those who are being led astray by this false gospel that says “everything is relative and it really doesn’t matter what you believe.” No!!! Everything hinges on what you believe about Jesus Christ. This book and movie entice people to disbelieve that Jesus is the only way to the Father. “As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed (Gal. 1:9).”

  5. We, as believers, are aware that “…there must needs be heresies…” in order to reprove us. Some were saying we as Christians should work to ban the movie. I think that type of move is exactly what the evil one hopes our response will be. Banning something or publishing how terrible something is only gives it greater exposure and piques greater interest. We should go to the movie, peruse the book and learn what arguments are being leveled against our faith. This is a wonderful opportunity to teach! (But we must’ve studied to show OURSLEVES approved… so that no one can intimidate us.) Further, some Christians’ response has been “it’s just fiction” or “it’s ridiculous…I’m not giving it the time of day”. this response is not the best either (in my opinion). We know satan has always used the most subtle of attacks (cartoons and children’s movies, fictional works, etc.) to deceive. We must consider it all worth investigating.

Shying away from things that we may deem questionable is not the answer. Confront it head-on. Be open-minded and seek the truth and we WILL find it. This is an exciting time-capitalize on the interest.

  6. Tamara,

Are you saying we should investigate every controversial event that satanic forces present?
