TADCC Community,
“God Speaks For You To Take Control of Your Life”
We often believe ourselves to be victims. Tragic things may have happened to us. Some of these things may have debilitated us either physically or mentally. Many of the conferences or revivals that we attend only speak to the perpetrators and not to the victim being held accountable.
I know this may sound harsh if you were a person that suffered harm. However, this is the thing that sets a Christian apart from the world and also allows us resume our life.
We must realize that when God said that those that live righteous shall suffer persecution it was telling the truth. Christ Jesus was the great example of someone who suffered but yet forgave and was able to move on with the will God the Father had for His Life.
You can too can move on. God gives us the power to forgive and in forgiving we become a new creature. This new creature is not held captive to hurts or baggage but is able to move forward in the will of God as His Son Christ Jesus did.
Hebrews 1:1 says that God has spoken to us through His Son Christ Jesus our Lord. He speaks a word to us to know that we can forgive and move forward in the will of God. No matter what the problem, temptation, hurt, disappointment or sin was committed in the past.
Thank you Pastor. Sometimes it is very hard to let go of the past. I wonder how I can prepare my child for the world. I have such a fear of him suffering the problems, hurt, and disappointment that I have, that I keep him very close to me, but I know that someday he will have to be on his own and that I can not protect him from everything.
That is the comfort that Christ Jesus gives us through His word. Look around you. Everyone has made a mistake. Also look around you and you will see that the people or the world did not stop due to the mistake that was made. We tend to magnify some mistakes more than others when God places all mistakes or sin on the same level. That is why He is able to forgive us of any sin.
The more we place our faith in Christ the greater assurance He gives us that we can start over. This is really what “Being Born Again” truly means. You now have a new life. However just like the child learns how to walk and talk from his parents or caregiver, so too must Christian learn how to walk and talk in this new life in Christ.
Stay close to the Lord. Your son will be okay. The greatest example that we can give to anyone is our testimony of repentance. The reason why is because at some point in a person’s life he or she will need to repent. Your life is showing your son that no matter what happens or what he does he can turn to Christ Jesus for repentance and grace.
God has not give us the Spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7). Continue saying this and let it become a part of your life. “As a man thinketh so is he”.
As a Christian who has recently re-devoted myself to my faith, I struggle with how to deal with the “friends” I have who are not believers. I do let them know how important my faith is to me and how instrumental it has been in my life, I would love to share my faith and the gospel with them, but some people do not seem receptive. How do I deal with this? I know that I may have to let these associations go, but still do not want to give up on these people.
Shayala,
Do not let them go if you are strong enough to witness and live a life before them. But this is where you have to know how strong you are. There is a saying that goes the Word or God will either send a person away from Christ or bring him to Christ. God’s Word is a living word. Continue living and sharing the Word before your friends. They will either be won over to your side or leave you. Either way you win.
However, if the activities they are participating in is a weakness to you and you cannot refrain from participating in sinful things then you will need to leave them until you are stronger in the faith. Moses had to depart Israel for forty years because he was not ready to lead Israel at the age of forty. Paul went to the backside of the desert of Arabia before he came forth with great revelations and testimonies of God. Once again you have to be honest with yourself as to where you are in your faith. If you need to leave them for a season to bring about a greater perfection in your life then do it for Christ sake.
You will that the way of Christ always bring peace in the long run.
They do not participate in sin or encourage me to, they just simply do not believe. They have homosexual friends and such, though they themselves lead very conventional lives. If I invite them to church they simply say “no.” I do not want to leave them behind, but am certainly willing to do this if it is what Christ would want me to do.
Share Romans chapter 1 with them and also Leviticus 18. It is the Word of God that convicts. They hang around you because they see light in you. They also know that if you were able to get back on your feet, then possible they can do the same thing. Give them the Word of God and let them choose as to whether or not they want to continue hanging around a person who loves the Word of God more than life itself.
Shayala, I am so proud of you. I have had the privilege of observing your spiritual growth in the Lord and know that Chirst Jesus is well pleased with your rededication to serve Him, not being ashamed to call Him ” Lord of my life,” and your zeal/desire to share Him with others. As believers in Christ, we are commanded to ” Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven “(Matthew 5:16). Realize that some of your associates are envious but happy for you, while others are watching and waiting for you to fail/backslide.It’s not because they wish you harm, it’s your light/faith/trust in Christ that makes them acutely aware of the sin/unrightousness in their lives. 1Peter 4:14 states “If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you;for the Spirit of Glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified”. There will be times when you feel so alone, lonely and misunderstood. That’s when you truly have to exercise/put into practice your faith and trust in God. Proverbs 3:5-8 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh and strength to your bones.” Isaiah 41:10 says “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” It’s good to have someone to talk with when you’re going through trials and heartaches, but there will be times when you will be unable to reach them. Christ Jesus promises to “Never leave us or forsake us. So we may boldly say “The Lord is my helper; Iwill not fear, what can man do to me”(Hebrews 13:5-6). Remain steadfast in your commitment to Christ, Shayala, and realize that sometimes you will be persecuted for Christ’s sake.”Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven; for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you”(Matthew 5:11-12). Set aside time everyday to study God’s Word Shayala, even if it’s only one chapter. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to memorize verses that give you encouragement and hope in the promises of God,so that during trials and hardships of life, He will bring to your remembrance those verses to comfort you. Afterall, Jesus said that He would not leave us comfortless but that he would send us “the Comforter, the Helper, the Holy Spirit to guide you in truth(John 14:16,17,26). God bless you, Shayala.
I heard a song on this station and I would like to know who is the Artist and the name of the song.
” If Iyou see me flying on a cloud that mean I made it home ”
” if you see me with two wings that mean I’ve got my crown”
Thanks,
