  1. Pastor Williams,

I was wondering if there are any passages or scriptures in the Bible dealing with stress and anxiety in everyday life. I find it hard sometimes to just stop worrying about the little things or things that might happen but have not happened yet. I would like to know how to relax and enjoy life more without having to take prescriptions. How can I find peace within?

  2. Dear Anonymous,
I would like for you to be encouraged and to remember that God has your life in his hands if your life is totally submitted and surrendered to him. Sometimes, it is challenging to keep this in remembrance and practice because the world generally teaches that we have successes or failures based on chance or circumstance, but this is not the case for a believer. As Romans 8:28 states all things work together for the good of them who love God and to them who are called according to his purpose. Therefore, if submit our lives to God, by becoming a disciple of Christ’s teachings we must believe that whatever trials, stresses, or worry comes into our lives, we can have resolve and peace because God has promised in his word that it will work together for our good.

In Matthew 6:25-34, Christ Jesus instructs his disciples not to worry about everyday life because he will take care of them. And as Christ’s disciples, the same principles apply to us:
    Matthew 6:25-34
25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
    28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;
29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble

The key is verse 33, we should first seek the Kingdom of God and trust and believe that he will take care of our daily needs. As verse 34 says do not worry about what happened or what have not happened because tomorrow will take care of itself.

You will be able to relax and enjoy life when you surrender every part of your daily walk to Christ. Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths”

I would like to encourage you to pray each morning and ask God to order your steps for that day. I would also like to encourage you to seek Him when making decisions.

I pray that God fills you with his Holy Spirit. So that you can fully reap the fruit of the spirit, and a couple of characteristics of the fruit of the Spirit are joy and peace (Galatians 5:22-23). I pray that God grants you peace that passes all understanding (Phillipians 4:7).

    In Jesus Name!!

  3. Does GOD hear a sinner’s prayer? Many unsaved persons believe that in times of trouble , they can call/cry out to JESUS for devine intervention even though they do not confess HIM as SAVIORandLORD of their lives. The belief that GOD “loves everyone”gives the unsaved the impression that they have the right to call on HIM. Also, what’s the difference between “the prayer of repentence”, “the prayer of forgiveness” and the “the prayer of salvation”?

  4. Psalms 66:18 says if a person regards iniquity in his heart God will not hear him. The Book of Ezekiel chapter 14 speaks of people with iniquity and idols in their heart inquiring of God. God said He would answer according to their idols in their hearts. He also said that if the prophet is deceived He will destroy the person with the idol in his heart and the prophet. God hears a prayer of repentance.

Matthew 5:45 states “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” Sinners receive the same sunshine and rain that believers receive. That does not mean God answered his or her prayer.

1 Samuel 16 speaks of God withdrawing His Spirit from Saul. Saul would pray and God would not hear or answer his prayer. This is the reason he consulted the witch of Endor. God will forsake those that forsake Him.

The term prayer of repentance is not found in the Bible. Prayer is defined as asking for something. You do not ask for repenctance. You repent or live a life that is turned away from the sin. Repent means to turn away from an ungodly or sinful lifestyle.

Once again forgiveness is something we do. However, we do ask God to forgive us our sins as given in Matthew 6th chapter. Forgiveness cleans the heart so that God will hear your prayers.

Prayer of salvations is asking God to deliver us or save us from some danger. Whether it is sin, satan or anything else we think may present a problem to us. The word salvation and deliverance are at times used interchangebly in the Bible. Therefore salvation is deliverance and deliverance is salvation. One way that you know that you are saved is by your testimony of what you have been delivered from.

  5. Pastor Williams, On 6/6/o6 the remake of a 70′s movies,”The Omen” was released in theaters nationwide. Movie is about a child adopted by a politician & his wife. The child just happens to be the Anti-christ. As the movie progresses, the mother becomes suspicious that something’s wrong /sinister about the child because people are dying horrific deaths whenever this child becomes angry. She talks with her priest who tells her that the child might be the Anti-christ spoken of in the Book of Revelation. She is instructed to examine the child for a birthmark resembling numbers, numbers representing the “mark of the beast”. While the child sleeps, the mother discovers a birthmark of numbers on his scalp “666″. -Revelation 13:15-18 speaks of the Anti-christ “He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man:his number is 666″. -Revelation 14:9-10 ,”Then a third angel followed them saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image , and receives his mark on his forehead or his hand , he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God , which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and birmstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the LAMB. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night , who worship the beast and his image ,and whoever receives the mark of his name .”(NKJV) -Does anyone really know what 666 means? The sequel to “The Omen” released in the late 70′s , “The Final Conflict”, ironically is biblically correct with Christ Jesus victoriously defeating the Anti-christ. I did not hear alot about the reviews of this movie .I wonder if it had anything to do being released almost a month after “The Da Vinci Code”. Sorry about the long entry, I wanted to provide background about the movie for those not familiar with it ;as well as Scriptural references. There are alot of doomsday prophets on the airwaves and in the pulpits but they do not teach on this particular subject. Your comments please .

  6. 2 Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

The canon of scripture is the Word of God. Many people have taken part of the scripture and tried to make a doctrine out of it. II Timothy 3:16 says that all scripture should be used for setting doctrine and correction. Indeed, the word heresy as given in the Bible refers to people taking part of the scripture and neglecting other parts of scripture in order to create doctrines.

Examples given of heresies in the church today are: tithing for the church, once saved always saved, must be baptised in water to be saved, you do not have the Holy Spirit if you do not speak in tongues. These are all based on partial scriptures not the entire Word of God. If people in the church participate in such heresies, you know the world will too and this is what you see in the entertainment industry whenever they try to represent the Word of God.

First of all the Bible says the anti-christ is one that opposes Christ. “Anti” means oppose or against. The word Christ in the Greek and Messiah in the Hebrew means anointed one. Therefore the anti-christ means an anointed person that will oppose our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.

1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

There are already many anti-christs in the world. Any religion or person that denies that Christ Jesus is the Son of God come to save mankind from their sins has the spirit of the anti-christ.

These people are in the church that have the same spirit. Christ Jesus our Lord said that false christ would appear. Once again the word Christ means anointed one. Therefore false anointed ones will appear (Matthew 24:24). How will we know they are false — by their fruits. If they are only in it for the money, if they refuse to preach a message of repentance, if the message is that God loves everybody even while they are living a sinful life. If the person is not willing to submit to the correction of God’s Word, no matter his office in the church, then he is a false christ or false anointed one.

The entertainment industry is also misled. The Bible says the anti-christ will only be revealed in his time (2 Thess 2:5-12). For those who have not received Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour they will be deceived. They will believe the lies of the anti-christ. They will be deceived. This is why we cannot rely on the world to give us the correct information concerning the time of the anti-christ and also the return of our Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus. Our goal as believers is to live right and look for the return of Christ Jesus our Lord — not the anti-christ.
